He is a volunteer and active booster of the arts in the McCook area as both a founding and current board member of the McCook Arts Council for nearly 20 years.  He also continues to support the arts as a board member of the McCook Concert Association, advisor to the Norris Park “Hot Summer Nights” summer concert series sponsored by the McCook National Bank, and advisor to productions at the Fox Theatre and the “Live at the Bieroc” series at Sehnert’s Bakery and Bieroc Café.

Dale’s wife Mary is a fourth grade teacher in the McCook Public Schools and also serves in many leadership roles both in the McCook Public School system and in the community.  Together they are actively involved in the production of the Buffalo Commons Storytelling Festival every year in McCook in early June.  They have a daughter Anna, son-in-law Zach Hunnicutt, and grandson Everett, who live in Aurora and farm near Giltner, Nebraska.  They also have a son Neal who is completing his studies at the University of Nebraska – Omaha.

“I firmly believe in the vision and mission of the McCook Community Foundation” Dale comments.  “This organization can really make a difference when it comes to improving the well being of families in our community.  I am very interested in improving and promoting the quality of life of this area and feel the McCook Community Foundation plays a pivotal role in that effort”.
